Christmas at The Newman Arms begins on the stairs. Climb one flight and the wood panelled pie room glows, all pastry, gravy and good company. Go down and the basement waits, low lit and entirely yours. Between them, the bar keeps its flagstones and its low ceilings, as it has for longer than anyone can quite agree on.
Take one floor, or take two. Gather your team for a long table of pies and red wine, or fill the place with canapés, welcome fizz and a bar that answers only to you.
